I would like to share a little about me. I graduated from Grand Canyon University in 2000 with a teaching degree in Secondary Education with math as my specialty. I worked at a traditional high school for 6 years teaching math. I stopped teaching when I had my daughter and then realized how much I missed teaching. I taught at a virtual high school for 3 years. In March of 2010, I had the privilege to start at AZVA. In the summer of 2014 our family moved to Texas and I started working at TXVA. In October of 2014 I became one of the Southern Region Instructional Coaches. I am blessed to be able to work with an amazing team!
A little about me personally, I was born and raised in Phoenix. In 2000, I married the love of my life, Tom, who is a special education teacher at TOPS with K12. We had our oldest daughter, Kathryn (Katy) in 2006. Actually I was in labor on 6-6-06 but she was born the next day. In December of 2007 we were blessed with another little girl, Cordelia (Cordi). In October of 2010 we were blessed with our little boy, Connor. He was born 6 weeks early and gave us quite a scare. He was on an apnea monitor until March of 2011. During the summer of 2014 our family decided to move to Texas. And we love it here!
Something interesting about us is that we always wear kilts for Christmas. The whole family has them. My husband is very proud of his Scottish heritage and we want our children to know their history. We debated doing a traditional Scottish wedding but instead went with a Renaissance theme for our wedding. We had all the outfits handmade. We thought it was fitting since it was like a fairy tale.
